Innovative Field Undergoes Comprehensive Branding and Wayfinding Enhancements
Rochester, NY — For the past two years, Larimer Design has collaborated with Monroe County and the Rochester Red Wings to implement a series of branding and wayfinding improvements at Innovative Field, designed to elevate the fan experience and honor the team’s storied legacy. In partnership with SWBR and Vargas Associates, these enhancements include a newly redesigned Home Clubhouse and adjacent service tunnel, completed in 2024.
The transformed clubhouse now features a striking formal entrance, adorned with dimensional team logos that set the stage for an immersive experience. Inside, an illuminated overhead logo adds a bold visual centerpiece to the locker room, while oversized replica player cards pay homage to some of the greatest athletes in Red Wings history. Expansive murals further celebrate key moments from the team’s nearly 150-year legacy, creating an inspiring atmosphere for both players and staff.
"Larimer Design has done an incredible job bringing our vision to life at Innovative Field," says Naomi Silver, President/ CEO/ COO of Rochester Community Baseball. "Their creative approach and attention to detail have transformed our clubhouse and wayfinding elements. These upgrades not only celebrate the rich history of the Red Wings but also create an inspiring environment for our players, staff, and fans. We’re grateful for their partnership in making Innovative Field a first-class experience for everyone who walks through our doors."
These upgrades are part of a multi-year, $26 million investment aimed at modernizing Innovative Field and ensuring compliance with Major League Baseball’s latest facility requirements. Previous improvements have included a cutting-edge videoboard, renovations to the visitor's clubhouse, and expanded kitchen facilities. Looking ahead, ongoing projects include the construction of a new batting practice building, a state-of-the-art workout facility, and additional fan-friendly enhancements. All MLB-required upgrades are slated for completion by April 2025, just in time for the upcoming season.
